What I did was turn a 2-Dimension drawing to a 3-Dimension one. I used lighter colors on the side the light source was coming from and used darker ones where the shade was.

 

The way I did it was using adobe illustrator with the pen tool, an isometric grid and a knowledge of  hues, shades, and highlights.

I would like my audience to notice how the colors are what really makes a 2D drawing to a 3D one.
